Front Door Paint Color Inspirations

We've all done it.  We've sat and stared at the a bright or/and saturated paint sample and thought, "could I pull of this beautiful color in a room?" Then we decide we can't, so we sigh and walk away.  Those colors need not be ignored anymore! Instead, why not PAINT YOUR FRONT DOOR a fun expected color? It's a great way to brighten  up your exterior and get that dash of bold color we all desire! Take a look at these fun choices:

Sigh... If only I didn't rent. That Tiffany blue door would be mine.

Do you have a fun colored front door? If not, what color would you choose?

Perfect Pair: Turquoise + Chrome

Awhile back, I came across a pre-teen's bedroom that had turquoise walls with gold metal trim.  I've been pulling my hair out trying to re-find it... I think it was in an eMag article?  Maybe...? If anyone know what I'm talking about, let me know!  Until then, here are some pretty chrome and turquoise images to drool over:

Pretty Lil' Abstracts

It's official.  I REALLY want to learn how to paint abstracts.  I have always wanted to paint as a 'release' and it seems my uber busy schedule is making that desire stronger (as if I have time to sit down anymore!!).  Who knows, maybe I could create some beauties like these:

Aren't these to-DIE-for?  I have been searching online for classes and even visited my local art supply store to search for instruction, but **sigh...** I live in Utah.  No one here appreciates modern art as they should.  Anyone know where I could turn for some Abstract Art 101??

Perfect Pair: Yellow + Grey

Spring is right around the corner... right?  RIGHT? Well, maybe it's just wishful thinking.  Today it should get up to 38 degrees and I'm over the moon excited about it.  I'm over this teens business.  If I can't will Spring here any faster, at least we have beautiful bright interiors to inspire us!  What better than the perfect combination of yellow paired with grey?

I am DIEING over the gloves.  There is nothing more chic than shoulder length gloves scrunched down to the forearm.  They are the perfect shade of grey, too.

Anthropologie
My sister and I are going to attempt to make this quilt from Anthro next week.  It looks like we're in for a LOT of work, but I'll let you know how it goes!  Love me a little DIY.

Color Inspiration: DVF Pre-Fall 2011

If honeysuckle (the 2011 Pantone Color of the Year) just isn't your thing, take a look at the fun palettes from Diane von Furstenberg's Pre-Fall 2011 line.  The woman who ruled the 70's (she invented the ubiquitous wrap dress) is revisiting the decade with a unique twist on color.  Why go along with the crowd when you can stand out as an individual?  After all,

"Life is a risk."
