Canyon Crest: Nursery Suite

Hello Loverlies! I'm hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! I'll be posting pics of my explorations of Downtown Columbus I took over the weekend, but first,
we need to get through a few more reveals.  Today's reveal is on the
CANYON CREST NURSERY SUITE.

Brooke Jones Designs Pink Purple Nursery Thibaut Wallpaper

This precious baby was my client's first girl so the client had two request:
PINK AND PURPLE.
These colors can be tricky to work with, as they can get too 'little girl' real fast.
There is definitely a fine line between chic and saccharine.

Our first jumping off point was the amazing Anna French wallpaper from Thibaut.
The pretty calla lily print on a light purple irridescent background is jaw dropping in person.
I paired this paper with Benjamin Moore's Pink Cloud paint and we had
the perfect background for this little princess's room.

A fluffy flokati rug and relaxed roman shades in a contemporary fabric help
keep this room youthful but not too childish.

We had a limited budget in the en suite bathroom so we used some budget-friendly tricks.
We swapped out the Tuscan rustic mirror for a chunky white framed mirror from TJ Maxx and
splurged on pink rose knobs from Anthropologie.

Turkish-Barak Rug Inspired Girl's Room

When designing a child's room, most people start with the 'theme.' Winnie the Pooh? Disney's Cars?
I'm not the biggest fan of this method. One, you're are limiting yourself to a specific style.
Two, kids grow up. Are they going to be a big Batman fan in 5 years? Probably not.

I prefer to gain inspiration from an adult piece of decor and build a room that is youthful but not childish.
I have used wallpaper as inspiration for a nursery, a chandelier for a shared bedroom, and here, I'm using a
 TURKISH-BARAK RUG to INSPIRE A GIRL'S BEDROOM.

I don't know about you but I would be just as happy in this room at 20 as I would be at 8.

Pink: Corals to Honeysuckle

I a self-admitted girly-girl, but I typically don't lean towards the color pink.
Too me, pink can easily be too sweet and too feminine.  Lately though, I have dreamed of bolder shades of
PINK FROM CORAL TO HONEYSUCKLE.

I'm trying to convince my mom and sis to make me this skirt in
10 colors so I can wear only maxis, Ts and sandals this Summer.

No wonder Honeysuckle was the Color of the Year 2011.

What do you think of PINK?

Pink and Tiffany Blue Christmas

I stumbled across a single image of this
PINK AND TIFFANY BLUE CHRISTMAS
on Pinterest and instantly feel head over heals.
Call me crazy but I have a thing for non-Christmas Christmas decor and
this home is one of the best examples I've seen!
Check out this eye candy:

Makes you want to buy some sheepskin throws and some candy colored confetti, no?

While I'm Out...

This week is nothin' but work, work, work... not fun.  I hope I get around to post at least 3 times this week and until then, here's another sneak peak at another client's room-in-progress:

Nothin' wrong with a lil' pink leopard, now, is there?

Eye Candy: Madrid Apartment

After a full morning of a spray paint fest with a client, my fingers are just about ready to fall off.  I'm going to rest them for the weekend, but I wanted to leave you with something pretty to look at:

Bon weekend!

Vintage Chrome Chair

My  heart skipped a beat when I came across this vintage chair.  Isn't it amazing?  If only I had the extra moo-lah to pair it with a pretty white Parson's desk for my future home office...

Grrrr.... so hot.

Buy it before I do here.
