GelaSkins Custom iPhone Skins

I've had my iPhone 4 now for almost a year but have yet to settle on a cover.
I know it's not the biggest decision but none of the covers reflected who I was.
I know, I'm picky.
If it's an item that I use multiple times a day, though, it needs to make me happy every time I see it.

I got SO excited when I stumbled across
GELASKINS CUSTOM iPHONE SKINS
yesterday.  You can upload images to GelaSkins and have your custom skin sent straight to your door.
Genius.

I sacrificed a good hour or two of sleep trying to figure out which skin I want to order.
Here's what I've created so far:

I'm leaning towards the first abstract but my heart twitters over the mint colored Cy Tombly.
Which piece of art would you
use for a phone cover?

Guest Post: Black and Gold by Becky Yardley

Hi everyone! Becky Yardley here, an interiors blogger and colour addict.
I’m so excited to be guest posting on Brooke’s lovely blog today, thank you Brooke!

I wanted to show you some great treasures I found for creating a stylish black and gold interior.
Black is a dark and dramatic colour so it can be a little intimidating to think about using it indoors,
if you were a bit of a gothy teen like me then you’ll know exactly what I mean!
But this look is less “paint it black” and more
Coco Chanel meets Alice in Wonderland.

As an accent colour, black adds style and elegance to a room, think grown up and refined,
with a few playful hints to the rebellious teenager inside.

Keep it clean with crisp white walls for a sophisticated backdrop, add a few carefully
chosen deep black items and warm it up with gold to create a sophisticated finish.

For my mood board, I mixed it up with both contemporary pieces like a gold studded cushion along with more decorative items like the fancy French chair and black gothic mirror.

I hope you enjoy this look, for more inspiration please
visit Appliances Online blog where you can see more interior ideas from me!

Thank you

It's cold, windy, and bleak outside today.
Isn't March suppose to come IN like a lion and OUT like a lamb?
Mother Nature seemed to have gotten it backwards this year.

Mad Men Season 5 Premier: Mad Men Betty Inspired Design

I can't believe it's really happening.  Tonight is the
SEASON 5 PREMIER of MAD MEN!
Remember how Don proposed to Megan?
Remember how Joan hooked up with Roger and now she's PREGNANT?
And Betty is moving away from the gorgeous home she once built with Don?
Oh Betty, you are so pretty, yet so sad. Of all the characters, I think I'm most intrigued by Betty.
As the show goes on she gets meaner and meaner. Hopefully something will happened to help soften her.
She's just too pretty to have that frown all day long.

In honor of the new season, here is a
DESIGN BOARD INSPIRED BY BETTY
and her sherbet colored wardrobe:

Don't worry Betty, it'll all be okay.

Stay tuned, tomorrow I will be announcing the winner for the
DESIGN BOARD GIVEAWAY!!!

Modern Art Vignette

Sometimes I see an item that inspires me to design a vignette for no reason at all.
When I say 'inspire' I mean I won't be able to get that item off my mind
until I find objects to coordinate with it. I think I may have a design addiction... is that a bad thing?

Here is my latest flash design for a
MODERN ART VIGNETTE.

I love the tension between the modern lines of the art and fixtures against the
natural lines of the peonies.
That may be a combo I'll have to research further...

What do you think? Does this vignette work for you?

Brooke Jones Design Work: Floating Shelves

Here are some stills of a few of my projects where I used
FLOATING SHELVES.
They showed a view in my Studio 5 segment but I thought I'd share them again,
just in case you wanted to stare at them a bit longer.

A special shout-out to my UBER TALENTED SISTER
who used her awesome photography skills to shoot these images last minute.

Honestly, what do people do without sisters?
